Sahih Hadith

  • “Sahih” means authentic or sound.

  • A Sahih Hadith has a reliable chain (Sanad), trustworthy narrators, and no mistakes or contradictions.

  • It is accepted as strong evidence in Islamic law and practice.

2. Mutawatir Hadith

  • “Mutawatir” means repeated by many.

  • This Hadith is narrated by a large number of people in every generation.

  • It is impossible they all lied, so it is 100% accepted as true.

  • Example: Hadiths about the number of daily prayers.

3. Sanad

  • “Sanad” is the chain of narrators who passed down the Hadith.

  • It shows who reported the Hadith from the Prophet (SAAS).

  • If the Sanad is strong and unbroken, the Hadith is more reliable.

4. Matan

  • “Matan” is the actual wording or text of the Hadith.

  • It is the message or statement that the Prophet (SAAS) said or did.

  • Scholars check if the Matan matches Islamic teachings and the Qur’an.

5. Mawdu' Hadith

  • “Mawdu’” means fabricated or fake.

  • These Hadiths were made up by someone and are not accepted in Islam.

  • Scholars reject them because they harm Islamic teachings.
